Building at Giorgi Mazniashvili Street N58, Batumi
Brief Description of the Building:
This single-story house, built at the end of the 19th century, features a long main façade that faces the street. The building is plastered and painted white, with certain elements highlighted in light gray. The eclectic design of the façade is divided by paired rectangular window openings, flanked by pilasters made in rustic stonework imitation. The windows are framed with profiled lintels, which are adorned with keystones featuring leaf motifs. Above the window openings, simple architraves are rendered.
The window sills are highlighted by a continuous horizontal belt. Below the sills, rectangular areas are symmetrically placed, each featuring concentric circles. The façade is finished with a frieze adorned with meander patterns, and the building is topped with a stepped cornice.
Artistically, the building stands out due to its doors—one with two wings (on the right) and the other with four wings (on the left)—both of which are decorated with wooden details and metal decorative covers.
The building s rear façade, leading to the courtyard, has been altered by later additions, losing its original appearance. Despite the changes, the building still contributes significantly to the preservation of the historical development of the street and the shaping of its architectural character.
