Batumi, S. Zubalashvili Street No. 13
Brief description of the monument:
This two-story building, erected in the early 20th century, faces directly onto the street with its primary façade. The plastered surface is painted pink. The floors, separated by a profiled cornice, are articulated by a series of arched openings framed by moldings. Decorative rectangular panels are placed beneath the window sills. Restrained wall decoration is further enriched by decoratively detailed pilasters running vertically along the façade surface.
The main entrance staircase is located at the left edge of the building, with a wooden, double-leaf, ornamented doorway. At the center of the second floor, there is a balcony with decorative metal railings. To the right of the original balcony is a later, aesthetically incompatible addition, which has distorted the original arch-shaped window openings into rectangular forms. The rear façade facing the courtyard has been significantly altered due to recent block additions.
Despite these modifications, the building has retained its original proportions and the architectural composition of its main façade. It plays an essential role in preserving the historical character and urban scale of Zubalashvili Street.
