Batumi, Memed Abashidze Street No.4
Brief description of the monument:
This residential building was likely constructed in the early 20th century. It is a two-story structure with an inner courtyard. An arched passageway leading into the courtyard is situated on the right side of the building and features an ornate metal gate. The facade of the building s ground floor is divided by large openings. The two floors are separated by a profiled cornice accompanied by a dentil frieze. A similar decorative cornice runs along the second floor. The upper floor is characterized by rectangular windows arranged in pairs (except for a single separate window on the far right), each flanked by fluted pilasters topped by simple-profiled capitals.
The building stands out due to its simplicity and restrained design. It lacks any sculptural ornamentation or decorative elements, featuring instead a clean, smooth surface rhythmically divided by uniform architectural details. Although it does not possess high artistic or architectural value, the building remains important within the densely built environment of the street as a background structure.
