Batumi, Zurab Gorgiladze Street N31
Brief Description of the Monument:
This house, built in the early 20th century, is located within a densely developed urban setting. It is a two-story structure, with the main body constructed of brick, while the base is made of roughly hewn stone. The brick façade is unplastered.
On the left side of the ground floor is a tall, rectangular arched passageway (talani) that leads into the inner courtyard. The façade is segmented by door and window openings, which are shaped as flattened arches. The ground floor openings are undecorated, while the second-floor windows are topped with pediment-like lintels and brickwork imitations of keystones.
The façade is finished with a tall cornice, beneath which runs a row of large dentils. A single wrought-iron balcony is suspended at the center of the second floor.
This building is a notable example of Batumi’s urban architectural heritage.
