Batumi, Revaz Komakhidze St. N6
Brief Description of the Building:
This two-story building, constructed at the turn of the 20th century, has a Latin L-shaped plan and is integrated into the surrounding urban development, with its main facade facing the narrow entrance of Revaz Komakhidze Street. In recent years, an additional volume was added to the right part of the house, replacing the previous balconies (according to local oral tradition).
The original facade of the building is plastered and painted. Its decoration is borrowed from the classicist repertoire. The smooth wall of the basement and the openings on both floors are rectangular. The entrance door is placed at the right corner of the building. On the second floors right side, there is a suspended balcony with a metal railing.
In the new volume, a passage to the yard is cut on the first floor, which has a metal gate. On both floors above the passage, metal balustraded balconies are attached to the facade. The building surrounds the inner yard on two sides, but a significant portion of the yard has been heavily altered and has lost its original appearance.
While the building may not stand out in terms of high artistic value, it plays an important and significant role in the development of the specific street and neighborhood.
