Building at Akhmed Melashvili Street N16, Batumi
Brief Description of the Building:
This two-story house, built in the early 20th century, features a plastered facade painted in a reddish-pink and beige color, facing the street. The first floor is divided by large, rectangular display windows, with the tops of the windows marked by elongated rectangular sections covered in decorative plaster.
The entrance is through a doorway framed by pilasters, with a wooden, decorative door. The second floor features rectangular windows with profiled surrounds. Above the window surrounds, decorative reliefs are carved into the stone, and a garland-like ornament is sculpted above the lintels. The central sections of the facade are adorned with decorative plasterwork.
Later additions include side-by-side metal balconies on the second floor.
This building is a typical example of Batumi residential architecture from the early 20th century. It plays an important role in shaping the scale and architectural character of the street.
