Cultural Heritage Protection Agency of Ajara was established in 2011, on January 18! It was established with the direct support and by the resolution of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara!

The agency is a Legal Entity of Public Law, which is included in the system of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara and provides: protection, promotion, study, maintenance, restoration and preventive conservation of the cultural heritage in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara!

The main tasks of the agency are:

• Protection, preservation (preserving cultural heritage for future generations);
• Ensuring access to all segments of the population;
• Highlighting and supporting the importance of tangible and intangible heritage monuments;
• Organize related events of cultural heritage, festivals and promotion of tourism!
