Batumi, Tbel Abuseridze Street No. 24
Brief description of the monument:
The Batumi Brewery was constructed in 1951. Its architectural complex comprises several buildings. Facing Abuseridze Street is the administrative building—a modest two-story structure whose central part of the façade is accentuated by pilasters and topped with a pediment. The pediment prominently displays the initials (БПЗ) (Batumskiy Pivovarennyi Zavod, Batumi Brewery). The entrance door is located centrally, with a metal balcony situated directly above.
Behind the administrative building, within the courtyard, stands the industrial facility, consisting of two tower-like structures flanking a relatively lower, enclosed production hall. The walls of the front tower are segmented by horizontal bands and decorated with tall pilasters capped with Doric capitals. The walls of this building have double-layer construction with insulation in between, adhering to the technological requirements of beer production.
The Batumi Brewery represents a characteristic example of 1950s industrial architecture.
