Batumi, Irakli Abashidze Street N5
Brief Description of the Building:
This two-story residential house, built at the end of the 19th century, belonged to Karapet Chilingarian. It is located along the street perimeter, with its left, blind short façade opening onto a small lane and partially enclosing a semi-open courtyard from the rear.
The main façade, much like its neighboring house to the left, is designed in a Classical style, featuring simple and symmetrical elements with slight asymmetry on the right flank.
The stories are separated by a profiled cornice, and the top of the façade is completed with a simple cornice band.
The building has an L-shaped plan and includes a courtyard, where glazed balconies were likely part of the original structure. Today, however, the courtyard side is completely altered with later additions and infill constructions.
