Batumi, Nikoloz Baratashvili Street No. 34
Brief description of the monument:
This single-story building, constructed in the late 19th century, has a plastered façade painted light gray, directly facing the street. Its semi-basement, decorated with imitation rustication, features two openings—one serving as an entrance to a restaurant below. Above these openings are two windows. At the right edge of the façade, there is a doorway featuring a decorated wooden door with an ornate metal canopy. Window and door openings are framed with moldings highlighted by keystones adorned with floral ornaments. The façade concludes with a profiled cornice.
Inside, a glazed wooden veranda (Shushabandi) runs along the courtyard-facing longitudinal wall. A later extension has been added at the rear, topped by a terrace enclosed by railings. The veranda itself retains its original architectural form and authentic wooden detailing.
This intimate, chamber-like building serves as an excellent example of traditional residential architecture in Batumi.
