Batumi, S. Zubalashvili Street No. 36
Brief description of the monument:
This two-story building was constructed in 1907. It belonged to Ivane Ugrekhelidze, a skilled iron craftsman who operated a smithy workshop in the building s courtyard. The façade features modest decorative details characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. Both the ornate metal railing of the second-floor balcony and the iron courtyard gate were crafted by Ugrekhelidze himself in his workshop. The building s rear façade has undergone extensive alterations and lost its original appearance due to later renovations.
This building represents a typical example of Batumi’s residential architecture and plays a significant role in maintaining the historic character and authenticity of Zubalashvili Street.
