Batumi, Merab Kostava Street No. 30
Brief description of the monument:
This two-story building dates back to the early 20th century. A rectangular passageway to the courtyard is situated at the center of the structure. The ground floor is relatively simple, with openings of varying sizes, presumably resulting from later modifications. The walls of the courtyard entrance are decorated with rectangular segments, centered with floral relief ornaments, similar to those also found on the left and right parts of this floor. The separation between floors is marked by a horizontal band of pyramidal cubes.
The façade of the second floor features rectangular door and window openings with simple angular moldings above. Below the windows, the façade surface is again decorated by pairs of three pyramidal cubes. Beneath the projecting cornice, there is a decorative band featuring a double row of dentils. The second floor also includes two projecting balconies with ornate metal railings supported by decorative iron brackets.
The building is notable for its symmetrical composition and rhythmic arrangement of openings on the upper level. Original staircases with ornamental metal railings have been preserved in the entryways. It stands out for its quality craftsmanship and the thoughtful architectural detailing of its façade.
