Building at Aleksandre Pushkin Street, N100, Batumi
Brief Description of the Building:
This two-story brick building, constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, features a high basement and is integrated into the dense urban development of the area. The building’s facade is executed in the Classical style with Baroque elements. The facade is symmetrical, with slightly projecting risalits at the corners. Entrances are located within the risalits. In the middle, there is a vaulted passage to the yard, and to the left, there is the main entrance.
The floors are separated by a simple-profiled cornice. The decoration of the floors differs. The openings of the first floor are accented with relief profiles. The base of the windows is highlighted with rectangular, cut surfaces, while the upper part has relief stones. The window lintels are also relief-sculpted, imitating the arrangement of roughly-hewn stone masonry with alternating wide and narrow stones. The corners of the risalits are accentuated with pilasters. The entire surface of the first floor is rusticated.
The second floor is plainer, with a centrally located balcony supported by a metal decorative railing. The surface is worked with horizontal grooves. The windows are simply framed. The building is crowned with a profiled cornice and a discontinuous parapet, which is featured on the central part of the building and the tops of the risalits, decorated with urns.
The building seamlessly integrates with the surrounding urban development and plays a significant role in defining the historical appearance of the neighborhood.
