Batumi, Parnavaz Mepe Street No. 11 / Kutaisi Street No. 18
Brief description of the monument:
This building occupies a corner position between two streets, with façades symmetrically extending along both streets. It was presumably built in the mid-20th century. The ground floor of the chamfered corner building is segmented by rectangular openings, some of which likely result from later alterations. Rusticated walls separate these broad openings. The floors are separated by a decorative frieze composed of pyramid-shaped elements.
On the second floor, the façade features arched openings flanked by pilasters adorned with capitals decorated in plant motifs. Between pilasters, sections alternate between single and paired window openings, framed by simple moldings. The building concludes with a projecting, profiled cornice.
Due to its strategic location, thoughtfully designed chamfered corner façade, harmonious proportions, and decorative detailing, the building stands as an interesting example of mid-century architecture and holds a key position within the urban fabric of the district.
