Building at Alexander Samsonea Street, N4, Batumi
Brief Description of the Building:
This one-story house, built at the beginning of the 20th century, is integrated into the urban development and faces N. Kakhiani Street. The building is constructed with blocks, and its facade is plastered and painted. The facade is divided by rectangular openings and is elevated by a smooth wall of the base.
To the left, there is a second entrance with a door opening, which is finished with a metal decorative, two-part canopy. The windows are framed on three sides, and the lower part of the window frames is accentuated by a projecting belt, which is shared by all the windows. Each of the three windows is capped with triangular pediments with a textured surface.
The rectangular inlays next to the openings and the small rusticated sections along the sides of the facade also feature a textured surface. The facade is crowned with a projecting cornice. On the left side, there is a metal gate, leading to the inner yard. However, the yard has lost its original appearance.
Although this building is not of high artistic value, it plays an important role in shaping the character and development of the street and neighborhood.
