Batumi, Otar Chiladze Street No. 6 / Parnavaz Mepe Street No. 5
Brief description of the monument:
This two-story stone building, constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, occupies a corner at the intersection of two streets. Today, the structure has been significantly altered. Its façades are surrounded along the entire perimeter by an extended balcony that spans the full width of the sidewalk and is covered by shiny, corrugated metal sheets.
Only minimal original details remain recognizable: a decorative stylized circular motif with three arrows on a pilaster at the corner of the first floor, and the entrance door leading to an intriguing staircase. Even these minor preserved fragments indicate traces of Art Nouveau stylistic features.
Despite the considerable loss of its original artistic character and authenticity, the building continues to harmoniously reflect the scale and urban context of the surrounding streetscape.
