The archaeological expedition is continued in the village Jabnidzeebi, Shuakhevi Municipality for the purpose of studying the church ruins and graveyard on the territory of “Kashueti” district, with the support of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Adjara.

At this stage, several graves were discovered in the east and south areas of the church ruins; grave goods (bowls, cups) were also found in some graves. One grave and two Kvevris were found at the floor level inside the church ruins.

During the research of the graves located in the east area of the church, a fragment of a stone with an Asomtavruli inscription was discovered, a part of which was accidentally found by a resident of the village in April of the current year. The inscription of the stone: “Christ, have mercy on Basili and his children”.

In this respect, 13000 GEL is allocated from the budget of the current year of the Agency.
