  • Metal artifacts cleaned and conserved in restoration laboratory - 19 ივნისი, 2025

    At the Shota Mamuladze Scientific Research Center’s Restoration Laboratory, under the Cultural Heritage Protection Agency of Adjara, metal artifacts discovered during archeological excavations at the site of the Petra fortress in recent years were cleaned and conserved. These artifacts date back to the 6th century AD. Among the items were: fragments of chainmail, shield umbos, spearheads, arrowheads, axes, swords and sickles.

    The conservation work was carried out by artist-restorer Giorgi Bolkvadze.
