The restoration laboratory of the Ajara Cultural Heritage Protection Agency has restored the work of the German painter Carl Richard Sommer - "Village in the Mountains - Kazbegi".
Damaged tissue was restored during the restoration process.
Painting layer strengthening-cleaning and retouching. Subframe replaced.
Finally the canvas was covered with a protective layer of special varnish. Richard Sommer lived and worked in Georgia in 1912-1937.
Mainly created ethnographic works, portraits, landscapes. ("Old Tbilisi", "Svan Woman", "Gurian Types", "Grammy") The painting is preserved in the Khariton Akhvlediani Museum of Adjara.
