The Georgian-Polish International Archaeological Expedition under the patronage of Ajara Cultural Heritage Protection Agency was started at the fort of Gonio-Apsarus On June 28, 2019. Excavations conducted at the southwest, northeast and southeast sectors. The expedition continued to study the cultural levels that began in previous years. The Georgian-Polish International Expedition works since 2015. During this period various architectural structures (bath, barracks, monumental structures, etc.) and archeological artifacts have been identified.
