By the initiative of Ajara Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency rehabilitation of Khino church is still continued. The second phase of works includes the conservation of the church wall, upright building and graves. The monastery complex comprises a 9th century church with a south-facing roof and a fully arched roof system. In 2017, rehabilitation work was undertaken and partially restore and conserve the temple walls (budget 92,000 GEL). The tender winner Construction Restoration Company is working on the rehabilitation of the church. 70 000 GEL will be spent from the budget for the works in current year. Khino Church is located in the Kintrishi River basin, 45 km far from town of Kobuleti. The church was probably built in the 9th century. Historical source about Khino is first encountered by Vakhushti Batonishvili. The church was destroyed by the Ottomans in the 18th century, with a partially demolished church added to the earthquake in the 1870s.
