On 30th September, 2018 with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara, Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Ajara organized an event “Batumi Yeard” on 48, Mazniashvili St., Batumi.
History and everyday life of old Batumi yeards have been revived on the event. Invited historians spoke about the XIX century’s Batumi, the importance of Batumi yeards, interdependence between population and their traditions.
Students of Batumi Art Teaching University presented the projects about future developments of old Batumi yeards. Local painters exhibited and sold their drawings.
The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara Inga Shamilishvili, the Mayor of Batumi Lasha Komakhidze and the director of Batumi Boulevard Irakli Jincharadze attended the event.
