The Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Adjara carries out an archaeological expedition to examine the cellar in the village Zeda Makhuntseti, Keda Municipality (the head of the expedition – Tamar Shalikadze).
The excavations revealed three damaged kvevris (clay vessels for wine) placed in-line, most parts of them are completely preserved and other parts are preserved as fragments of kvevri’s rims and body. Most of them are covered with relief ornaments and belong to the type of imported kvevri decorated with relief notches.
In the current year, 130 000 GEL were allotted from the budget of the Agency in this respect.
