Current year on the initiative of Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Adjara and with the support of Ministry of Education,Culture and Sport the rehabilitation of Khino Church continued.
The second stage works included conservation of fences and tombs. The monastry complex includes church of IX century with the south aisle, which had fallen fully covered roof and an arched system. Rehabilitation works were carried out on this part in 2017 ( budjet GEL 92 000), within which the temple wall was fortified ,partial restoration and conservation.
The rehabilitation works are carried out by a tender winner company "Restorational building company"( budjet GEL 70 000). Today the completed works were inspected the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara Maia Khajishvili and Head of Adjara Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency Zaur Akhvlediani.
Khinotsminda Church is located in the valley of the river Kintrishi 45 kilometers from Kobuleti.The church was probably built in the IX century.The first historical dates about Khino can be found with Vakhushti Batonishvili.The temple was destroyed during the Ottoman invasion in the XVIII century,a partially destroyed church was added an earthquake in the 70s of XIX century.
