The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili get aquainted with the ongoing infrastructure works at Petra Fortress. Rehabilitation of Petra Fortress in 2015-17 initiated by the Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency.Rehabilitation was carried out on the south-west wall,west wall and corridor area of the prison. In 2017, the agency procured a project to build Petra Fortress infrastructure on a compatative basis,according to which the first phase of works in the museum reserve was completed last year. Last year a tender was announced for the full implementation of the works ,which includes the arrangement of adapted paths,a visitor center , exhibition building and a car park on the territory of the fortress.The works will be completed in the 2020. After the completion of the project ,the cultural heritage monument -Petra will be a tourist object of international standard.
