The event “Night at the Museum”, organized by the Cultural Heritage Protection Agency of Adjara, was held in the Gonio-Apsaros Archaeological-Architectural Museum-Complex on May 18 - the International Museum Day.

In 2024, the topic of the International Museum Day is “Museums for education and research”, which aims to emphasize the role of museums in the field of education and research, as well as, the significance of museums as dynamic educational institutions in the development of society.

Within the scope of the event, a film screening “The History of the Gonio-Apsaros Fortress” was held.

The end of the event was dedicated to classical music, which was participated by the pupils of Zakaria Paliashvili Music School (the laureates of republic and international competitions).

The International Museum Day was established on May 18, 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and this day has been celebrated by the international museum society for more than 40 years.
