The renewed museum has opened today in the Gonio-Apsaros Archaeological-Architectural Complex. Also, the arrangement of a new museum in Petra Fortress has finished.
These are modern-type museum spaces, where the artefacts found during archaeological expeditions in Gonio and Petra Fortresses are exhibited. The exposition includes archaeological materials reflecting the history of the fort and its surroundings from the Late Bronze – Early Iron periods to the Late Medieval Era.
he Head of the Agency Zaur Akhvlediani and invited guests visited the renewed museum. Also, the opening ceremony was attended by Davit Gabaidze – the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tite Aroshidze – Deputy Chairman, Maia Khajishvili – Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Archil Chikovani – Mayor of Batumi and heads of various departments.
