  • Two objects in Adjara have been granted the Monument status - 19 ნოემბერი, 2019

    On the initiative of LEPL Agency of Cultural Heritage Preservation of Adjara, proper documentation about the object (Adjaristskali bridge;unknown ceneteries of Goderdzi Pass ("Meteo") with Cultural Heritage values was submitted to LEPL National Agency for Cultural Heritage Protection of Georgia.

    In accordance with the desicion N02/86,November 5,2019 by the General Director of LEPL National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, the mentioned object was granted the status of Cultural Heritage tabgible monument.

    Adjaristskali iron bridge located in the Municiphality of Klelvachauri its only one bridge in Adjara,which is built according to the analogue of Eiffel Bridge.There is no similar Bridge in the the valley of Adjaristskali.

    Constructively bound metal bridge is located on the bank of the river Adjaristskali.

    According to tradition, the bridge was linking two historic district.Initially we must assume that the bridge would be wooden. Wooden bridges couldn,t endure a long time, because of abundant rainfall of Adjaristskali and it was carrying by water. Therefore it was necessary to construct a new bridge. Iron bridge was built at the begining of XIX century during the government of Russian Empire, by the local engineers and Greek kalatoses. Iron bridge is single cohesive construction, which has not a holder arches.

    The bridge is semicircular shape and its accented with simple metal ornaments
